Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) provide nonsurgical treatment options for many conditions that, in the past, would have required traditional surgery.

If you have been diagnosed with a condition that requires surgery, you may be a candidate for one of these minimally-invasive procedures. Interventional Radiology may be the best choice to treat varicose veins, uterine fibroids, and fractures caused by osteoporosis. Interventional Neuroradiology can be applied to the acute treatment of stroke, as well as the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and vascular tumors.

This advanced medical specialty allows our skilled radiologists to enter the body through a small nick in the skin. Then, guided by sophisticated imaging technology, the doctors gain access to the treatment site through the patient's blood vessels. General anesthesia is usually not required. Recovery time is minimal, and most procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis.
