Family Medicine Residency

Family Medicine Residency

Since 1972, The Family Medicine Residency Program has been preparing residents for diverse careers within family medicine. Over a three-year period, residents learn patient care in a stimulating environment, where they receive a solid basic foundation and experience varied clinical opportunities that allow them to pursue a myriad of special interests. This well-balanced program permits residents to enjoy a personal life as they prepare to move forward in their professional careers.

More than 175 physicians, certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, have graduated from this prestigious program. The Family Medicine Residency Program continues to focus on personal learning, which emphasizes technological advances in the context of compassionate patient care and camaraderie among all healthcare professionals.

The Family Health Care Center participates in Pennsylvania's Chronic Care Initiative and receives funding for innovative patient care and delivery systems. We are a Level 3 NCQA-recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH), and we have been a leader in preparing resident physicians for the changing healthcare world.
