The Reading Hospital and Medical Center offers several support groups for patients who have experienced functional loss or disability. Family, friends, and caregivers are welcome.

Amputee
Support Group Those who have experienced an amputation, or friends and family of someone who has experienced an amputation, are encouraged to join our Amputee Support Group. Our guest speakers provide education on various topics. This group offers socialization and support for patients, former patients, and the community.

Injury Support Group
The Brain Injury Support Group at The Reading Hospital for Post-Acute Rehabilitation is designed to offer support to survivors of a brain injury, along with their family and friends. The support group is focused on providing education, emotional support, and opportunities for socialization and peer support.

Stroke Support
Group
Recovering from stroke can be a long, hard road - not only for stroke survivors but also for their family and friends. The Stroke Support Group is designed to help stroke survivors, family members, and friends learn more about life after stroke. The group sessions will include educational information, guest speakers, and opportunities for social interaction.

Support Group
The Aphasia Support Group is designed to help people with aphasia, family members, and friends deal with the ongoing challenges encountered when living with aphasia. The group sessions will include educational information, guest speakers, and opportunities for social interaction.

Caregivers
Support Group
Caregiving can be a lonely task. Aside from family, there are few others who are available to lend support. The Caregiver Support Group provides a place where caregivers can voice their feelings and needs without guilt. Participants also have the opportunity to share ideas about what works to help take care of them.

Parkinson's
Support Group
The Parkinson's Disease Support Group provides an opportunity to discuss experiences and feelings and to share solutions to common problems of Parkinson's Disease - such as anxiety and depression - that can affect the entire family. The support group also provides an avenue for a better understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

Education Program
Falls, car accidents, work accidents, and violence can change a person's life and their families' lives in a matter of moments. This series of programs is targeted to those persons who have experienced a trauma event and have felt the severity of the impact on their lives. Patients, caregivers, and loved ones are welcome.

of PA Support Group
Founded by a nurse whose son has Arnold Chiari Brain
malformation, ChiariPeople seeks to bring fellow Chiarians
together to share in support for one another and to participate
in fundraising to help find a cure for this devastating brain
disease.

guidance to individuals and their families with lung health
